I recently upgraded my typical 2.4m telescopic lopper to a Fiskar UP86 which goes up to 4m. It's bloody brilliant, night and day to be able to reach so high where previously I'd need a tree surgeon (who was the one recommended it).
BUT it will only happily cut up to an inch or so thick, sadly... there's an attachable saw blade but I'm told it's not great. We have a lot of mature trees and they're always higher than you realise until you walk up and see the 'low' branches are 4m up!
I saw Stihl do an amazing-looking HT range which go up to 5m(!) but these are approaching £700. I saw some cheapo alternatives for home use but they are about half the length. Does anyone else make something this long, but at a slightly lower level than Stihl? My tree surgeon uses one day-in-day-out but I need only sporadic use.
