But now repealed.

The laws of England are not imposed by the Church of England.
I used the word 'inspired' not 'imposed'.
The C of E certainly plays an essential part in influencing the laws of the UK (The Lords)

Show me some examples that are still enforced.
I never suggested that any are still enforced. There may be some, but I can't think of any off-hand.

The fact still remains that there were (and may still be in force) religiously inspired laws, and England is still a non-secular nation.
The C of E still has the privilege of some of its clergy sitting in the UK legislative making body.
Any proposals forwarded on reformation of the Lords retained some influencing process for C of E representatives.
"Over the last few decades the majority of proposals put forward by Governments to reform the Lords would have retained—in any reformed House that was not wholly elected—reserved places for Church of England Bishops on an ex officio basis."

House of Lords: Religious Representation - UK Parliament

No we aren't.
Are you suggesting that England is a secular state?
Granted it is becoming more liberalised, but it is still a religious state, it still has religious (C of E) representatives on its legislative council.

I never suggested that any are still enforced.

Then you are talking about things that used to happen many years ago.

UK is not a religious state and it does not have a dominance of religious laws.

A question for festive:
suppose you were (just say) a criminal who was fleeing UK, because you thought you were being persecuted for your lifestyle choice. You could afford to go to another country of your choice, ignoring any international treaties, free movement agreements, etc., in fact you are probably not even aware of such legalities.
Would you flee to the nearest country, (where possible agreements, permeable borders, etc could have you repatriated, etc) or would you choose your destination carefully, based on a number of assumptions?
Having made your choice , would you persist in attempting to reach your destination of choice, overcoming any difficulties you may encounter en route?
Being a criminal i would first and foremost be a successful one to which i would plough my resources into paving my way before i execute a well thought out plan and absolutely would ensure it suited me and everyone involved, i would also be self supporting.
Whats your point?

If my ass was being peppered with lead bucket bombs mustard gas IED's etc then i may well be just relieved to make it to a peaceful country.

strawman

Nobody is disputing that boats are arriving, what is being pointed out is Farage's motivation: he is appealing to his Xenophobic base for self publicity

If you think Farage has a different motivation, please do tell.

Oh and Ive noticed Festive made any attempt to provide a solution, rather like Farage -the only interest is pointing out it is happening.

No he isn't, like most normal thinking people he doesn't want our country being invaded by people we don't want here. Absolutely shameful the way our gov is turning a blind eye to this.

good on farage for reporting what is happening.

I know a new 21st Century job is needed a return to a dated idea. Watchmen at regular intervals along the south coast all in sight of each other. Arm them with something suitable for sinking small boats when they are 1 mile off the shore. Small laser guided missiles should be suitable. The usual big ones are a bit expensive. As Rolls Royce is running out of business get them to switch over to gear like this. ICI can probably still produce explosives.

Where to get the people. Easy change unemployment benefits. People get them providing they train to do something else. Once trained they then go do it what ever it is. No choice.

Then the people in various countries that convince people it's a good idea to be smuggled here. Easy again as we are a multicultural society. Put various ethnic groups though SAS training and parachute them in so that while undercover they assassinate the people who do this.

Even better idea. Stop encouraging wars in various countries in the first place as they encourage mass migration. In some cases the problems might be factions. Easy pick one side send in a lot of troupes and wipe the other side out. Better choice than deciding to arm one side as that still will leave factions.

One thing for sure Brexit wont stop it and might even make it worse so clearly something must be done about the problem. The best idea might be to send the people who think it is a significant problem to sort it out until it meets their expectations. That way they can blame themselves if it doesn't work out.
