Bar code tells me it is Tipp-Ex Rapid made by BIC Germany. (manufactured in the US)
It is Art No. 4002523 09
UPC 0 7033051106 4
Tipp-Ex used to use 1:1:1 Trichloroethane as the thinner. I know that was outlawed by EU
Have several bottles of genuine Tipp-Ex (as apart from some water-based stuff)
The Warning triangle states Highly Flammable (so defn not the Trico based stuff) – and it is based on Aliphatic Hydrocarbons, the details of what is in there is:
Naphtha (petroleum), hydrotreated light - 30 - 40%
Naphtha (petroleum), light alkylate - <10%
2-methoxy-1-methylethyl acetate - <10%
Anybody able to advise what thinner I could use to thin this down ….. whole load of bottles, just that little bit too thick to use.
Looked around the garage, I have some of the more common ones –
Meths, acetone, cellulose thinners, Trichloroethane , ISO-propyl alcohol, Lighter gas, Paraffin
Petrol, White Spirit
Any suggestions?
