Channel Crossing Prices Slashed!

With the Rwanda plan people are less willing to spend huge sums to get to the UK. People are less willing to group £5k on a seat. The plan has worked!

Unfortunately the gangs that operate the transport operations have decided to go for volume instead.

It'd be interesting to see if this was considered in the modeling of the Rwanda plan or not. It wouldn't surprise me if it were raised as a risk but ignored.

If only people had though that the Rwanda plan was not only immoral but also doomed to fail..
When someone has left a war torn Country travelled across deserts, travelled thousands of miles to France to cross the Channel and slip into this Country without being notoced , I should think the situation of ending up in Rwanda is furthest from their mind

The business entrepreneurs operating the rubber dinghy channel crossing services for all the migrants that we need in Britain are having a sale. As advertised on Tik Tok: "Don't pay 17-18,000, pay £1,500".

if this is genuine what are our authorities doing about it? Seems easy to find the organisers and get to them to stop it.
Seems a better and cheaper option than looking for deals with countries like Rwanda for 6 or 7 people at a time?
May be they want to allow immigration issues to continue. Keeping the fires stoked (the government supporters), blame other countries or the EU for the issues, and keep people away from other problems like cost of living at

What happens to the boats and their drivers?
The drivers would be People Traffickers??

Hope the boats are destroyed. It wouldn't be too hard for the French to spot the larger ones arriving at the coast, from drones etc, and check for legitimate users. Can't be many of those.

Sorry for repeating myself (I've said similar to what I'm about to type in other threads on this subject) but I don't think our government want to fully resolve this. I've already suggested migrants are useful for distraction and blame, taking the focus away from the real issue i.e. incompetent government and weak policy, leading to an NHS that is creaking at the seams, cost of living crisis etc. Yes some of the factors are global but not all of them. And yes, whilst the migrant thing will be a contributing factor, it's not as significant a contributor to the aforementioned issues that some would have us believe.

As I also said before, take ALL the migrants out of the UK tomorrow and let's see if the UK is utopia 24 months later with a perfect NHS, no food banks, no cost of living crisis, no UK born folk living on the streets etc ;)

Do you have access to the numbers they do or don't stop then ?
Do stop? no figures for that, but according to the link given by jobandknockoneout, there is at least one. Don't stop? well here's a link to a site you may deem acceptable for figures. Not knowing how big the craft are it is hard to put an exact number on it, but say on average a boat will hold 12, but they most likely overcrowd it, we'll say 25 per boat, and this year so far 13,000 (known) have come over, that works out at 520 they haven't stopped. But then you are probably aware that they are not really trying, but saying so will not suit your narrative, will it himmy?

Whats with this himmy thing? An insult of some sort? Its lost on me.
Unless you have some figures on how many boats and crossings are stopped, then all you are doing is spouting rubbish.
If you genuinely believe it has just been 1 boat then I think you dont understand the scale of the issue.

But you are missing the bigger issue. If those adverts are genuine why cant the organisers be found and stopped ? Lack of desire maybe ?

Lack of desire on whose part do you think? Is it in France's best interest to stop them leaving France?
That was obvious at the brexit referendum surely? But people still voted for it to stop it happening?

Lack of desire at our end if you think about it enough. Look at what diy fun has posted for an example

Of course the 'plan' is immoral and doomed to fail...

But then tories don't think...

About anything other than their own political survival and thus they are pandering to the xenophobes/racists that got them their last election win!

I'm so fed up with the Torys they are making a fogs dinner of this.

Will I vote for them again.

YES

if Labour change their policy on immigration I'd vote for them and I suspect many others would too.

Claims the alcoholic

We're now after 'morning watch', so you're probably sloshed already!
You do realise that alcoholism is a serious illness, don’t you? It’s a brain disease. If I really was an alcoholic, do you think it’s funny or clever of you to use it as an insult in the same way as you use the term soup dribbler as an insult?

Are there any other categories of Illness's that you feel comfortable to use as insults? Mentally disabled? Downs syndrome? Autism? Dementia? Cerebral Palsy?

Do tell.

Andy, the Sun and Mail are Tory client media, they bear no relation to facts whatsoever.

It must be a great comfort to you that you don't believe what is actually happening.

How did the football go? Did you watch Coronation Street?

what are our authorities doing about it
HA HA HA!

What do our authorities ever do about anything? What are our authorities authorities on? There are no authorities any more, no-one is in charge and no-one has been in charge for a long time. Have you noticed that anything our "authorities" plan or promise never happens?

Do you think there is planning and organisation in these matters? There isn't. The first of the post-war immigrants, i.e. those from the Carribean, were brought to fill staff shortages in the NHS. Did the "authorities" not realise that the migrants would add not only to medical staff but even more to the numbers of those requiring medical treatment?

Did none of the "authorities" calculate the likely population increase, given comparative rates of reproduction? No, the migrants were shipped in and left to do as they please / fend for themselves / run amok / run free / act as if they'd never left home. And still it continues.

F**k the authorities.

So don't blame others, blame us.
