Albanian migrants, enough is enough?

Best thing on't news for a while was today, Braverman admitting the system's broken.
Hope she acts.
And that is the actual issue.

Who is in charge of it and how long have they had in power to get it sorted ?

Until there is an effective system we will just keep attracting more and more. Of those that are allowed/wanted and those who should be returned.

Im not here to judge who or how many are in what category. But we definitely havent got control.

NOTHING.
WILL.
CHANGE.

Not long ago Priti Patel admitted that the system's broken and everyone hoped she would kick out the immigrants. A short while before that Nigel Farage admitted that the system's broken and everyone hoped he would kick out the immigrants.

Only when you hear some loony lefty in the public eye state that there are too many foreigners, and all the other loony lefties follow suit, will anything be done.

While i agree with most of the above, it won't solve the problem of large numbers of people trying to enter the UK illegally.

There are legal routes to claim asylum.

And that is the actual issue.

I don't get this constant demand for "a better system", "clean, temporary housing" and "safer routes". That will just make more of them come.

All British services, Army, Navy and RAF should be sent to the coasts immediately to repel these invaders, and by force.

The people who come out with this stuff do so because they can't think of anything else.

We havent got an effective system to process and return those who fail the requirements. Even the home secretary admits its not working.

Nothing at all to do with encouraging more, quite the opposite.

Just keep complaining about the immigration problem and not address it just keeps you right wingers enraged. For the wrong reasons. Takes your eye off the real issue

Ms Braverman described the asylum system as "hopelessly lax" and said some wanted to "be rid" of her because she was determined to fix it.
Labour accused her of being unfit for office and condemned her remarks.
Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper said decision-making at the Home Office had "collapsed" on Ms Braverman's watch and asked how "anyone is supposed to have confidence" in her.

We say we want a better system to control it, not encourage it. But just who has allowed the system to get "hopelessly lax" ?

Yes, but seemingly links aren't required any more on here.
I have one from The Northern Echo where some bright spark suggests sending asylum seekers to councils around the UK in order to share the workload of processing applications and easing areas around the south coast, like Manston.
I found it on a search for the story referenced by the man from MOT who was on about migrants entering a village to ask directions to Leicester. The first part is true: a story from 2019 in the Grauniad. The second part is a windup for his mate, PatEx.

Mind you, last night a graphic showed the numbers had gone up from 800 last year to 12,000 this year. No wonder the processing centers are overflowing. Maybe we need more staff, not fewer, after all.

Your "intellectual" grasp of the situation is truly staggering.

What about the loony Tory who feel that the current migrant handling just isn't on?

Suppose you think Rwanda can handle 1000's and 1000's. It's marginally better than making artificial waves in the channel.

The real problem is it all comes down to a system that applies more or less world wide and it's no easy task to change that. It also suits at times.

Apparently some of the breakdown in the Asylum system is because Braverman is only sending Asylum seekers to Labour councils and is refusing to send any to Tory regions.

Doesn't matter what they do. Just as long as the tories talk tough, and get the right headlines....

Doubt that even Rwanda would want thousands of Albanians dumped into there country ?

They have clearly made cuts in the system early on in their reign. Numbers coming may have got worse which in turn just makes things worse Some wonder if bad handling is intended to reduce arrivals,

The legal aspects have their interesting factors. Asylum declined but a judge decides it's appropriate. Makes me wonder about the initial sorting.

Then comes leave to stay - usually related to having relatives here.

Then visa arrivals. Far more strict control of those but some may overstay. We want some for universities etc.

State support - Cameron sorted something or the other with the EU. Little about it in the news.
