Truths can too, look at Trumpf’s promise to bring in tariffs
My memory is that the Leave side told us that if we left we would be able to negotiate a deal where we kept all the benefits such as frictionless trade but got rid of the annoying bits like freedom of movement and having to pay £350m per week to the EU.
This whole tarrif baloney is based on percentage calculations which which have been shown to be completely false, yet people still argue over them.
Trump didn't mention that America has a 275billion surplus with the rest of the world in services like health education ect. He concentrated on the import manufactured goods only.
He failed to mention that America has had a growing surplus in services for decades, his ****** about America being ripped of by the rest of the world doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Goldman has lowered its 2025 growth forecast from 1.0% to 0.5%, due to fears that Donald Trump will raise tariffs by much more than it had expected. In a note titled “US Daily: Countdown to Recession”, Goldman also lifted its 12-month recession probability from 35% to 45%, following “a sharp tightening in financial conditions, foreign consumer boycotts, and a continued spike in policy uncertainty” following Trump’s tariff announcements.
