People living longer with more complex needs that go with it. But yes the NHS should be run by medics and scientists not accountants or wannabe politicians who know what’s expected of them politically. There is massive underfunding in social care which only money will solve, not just efficiencies

Elon musk and his cronies are deliberately trying to enrich themselves and they obviously don't care about any sort of real measure of "efficiency". If they gave a **** about efficiency they wouldn't be destroying and defunding agencies that bring in more revenue and value than they cost to run.

I don't know if it is still the case, but tech that was developed and used by Nasa was regularly cited as returning many multiples of what it cost.
Also, strangling universities - whether financially or through what they can research - is a very stupid idea.

What do you think is happening with Iran and the nuclear deal. It's very confusing. I've just been reading a couple of articles in the NYT which say that Trump is negotiating a deal very similar to the Obama one. Also, the Gulf States seem to be in favour and Trump has blocked an Israeli plan to bomb Iran in May.

I've read much the same and am as confused as you are. Have to wait and see what the 3rd round of talks bring, also, US have scheduled talks with Saudi very soon, I suspect Saudi would be in favour of bombing the facilities.
Whilst Israel has the airpower to strike Iran and cause significant damage, it doesn't have the 'big *******' bombs needed to penetrate deep underground, these would need to be carried by American B2's.
