Hi All,

Here is a picture of our consumer unit. Would you think the RCD covers all circuits or only a subset?
The RCD says ln=63A, while the mains is 100A.

Thank you!

Impossible to say - maybe all of them.

Press the yellow button to test the RCD - as you are supposed to every few months - to switch off the RCD and (if it works) find out what circuits don't work.

Hard to be sure from the photo alone, but it wouldn't surprise me if only the 'right-most' of the circuits were RCD protected - maybe just the three B32s labelled "8, 7, 6" (interesting order!), but maybe more (maybe even all). The CU really should be labelled such as to make the answer to your question very clear!

It would be simple enough tio find out - switch off the RCD and then ascertain what is no longer working!

Oh, just noticed the odd numbering so maybe RCD only covers 8, 7 & 6 (but not necessarily in that order).

Still impossible to tell from the internet.

As I implied, that would be my 'best bet', but I fortunately don't have any hats to eat, since it's impossible to be certain on the basis of the photo alone
Just a joke but the mcbs are slightly out of line with the others so if I had to guess which I do I'd say 8, 7 and 6 :)

Each device is numbered running upwards away from the switch it's connected to.
Yes, that would be a logical explanation, and that would, of course, be consistent with just the right-hand three B32s being the only RCD-protected ones.
