dogs clearly focused on the cheese rather than saying cheese

you can see the pish bottle - 2nd from right - 'Comfort' had a conditioner (for washing clothes) and it came in these great wide necked bottles - just the think for nights out in your campervan nothing worse than to have to go outdoors if its raining or the midgies are bad

My brother is in to building model boats. He has loads he has done around his place...

I bought a boat once about 1988/89 ish. It was a cabin cruiser with what was called a 'planing hull' I think? Had a big engine and the previous owner used to water ski with it. Probably about 16-18ft long and fitted on a trailer. Never slept on it but it could have slept two, very uncomfortably! Had a little cooker and sink on it too. Went out on the Thames a few times with mates - launched it at Bargehouse road in Woolwich and went up the Thames through the barrier and just past the Belfast. Also went up the river Lee/Lea? Fishing. After spending a fortune on life jackets at Mrs Motties insistence, she allowed me to take her, our kids, my mate, his wife and his kids out on it. They loved it and were looking forward to the next trip and then the Marchioness went down and I was told to get rid of it as they wouldn’t be going out on it ever again. :(
That sounds like the perfect weekend cruiser. Shame you had to get rid of it before getting your money's worth.

Do you race it?

My dad had one like that and also a 1/4 scale 5m (7ft tall).
Its registered but I have never raced it. The local lake all take it a bit too seriously for me. I prefer to sail once they have packed up and gone home. I have 3 others a laser, a 950mm and an off the shelf trainer which I am trying to get the grand kids using.

Yes it can be a bit like that, I raced my dads at his club and they were misquoting race rules, so on the second race I was overlapped behind the lead boat and he was closing me off at the mark - So I called for water at the mark. left them cluelessly searching their rules.

It's really hard when you are used to feeling the wind. But they are great fun.

My only experience of sailing was on a school trip on the river Blackwater. Three of us in a boat, none of us had sailed before. It was going like the clappers. The more it tipped over, the harder I pulled on the sails. I swear one side was going along under water but we were going so fast the water just rushed by and I was practically standing up, ready to jump. The instructor came alongside in a speed boat and shouted "Let go of everything". We did and it stopped. He towed us back. He said it was the closest he'd seen the top of a mast come to the water without the boat going over.

Tuesday had 2 door windows fitted, they look stunning, totally transformed the van. Eileen bought me a set of those plastic wheel trims that look like (don't look like) alloy wheels just to 'pimp it up' even more.
Got the main units in, then made some adjustments and decreased sizes of some units, no point having a six foot bed when I'm only 5'8''. I can use that extra 4 inches for the fridge.
The slat bed worked out well, extends into a double. Next step this afternoon is unit for fridge, battery and electrics and maybe a cheeky little seat over the battery.
With the bed in I can have a measure up and order some cushions. I'll probably avoid memory foam as we've got one upstairs and I've found that the cat's sleep on it so much it remembers them not me.

I tell a lie! I’ve just been browsing through some old photos and 13 years ago I went with some mates and our wives to Turkey. It was all inclusive and included water sports etc. There was a massive yacht moored a fair way from where we were staying that had helicopters coming and going from it. As the 'experienced' sailor I talked my mates into sailing over to it so off we set. We got just over halfway towards it when some staff from the resort we were staying came out to us on a speed boat and told us to come back, we weren't allowed to go near the yacht. I'm in the red cap giving out the orders and guess who was on board the yacht!
