Disconnected cable inside garage fuse box

Hi guys, many thanks for all your help it's appreciated;
I now know where to replace the disconnected cable but I think after reading all the comments on sheathing and glands, I should get an up to date electrician in to renew the complete cable from tne domestic box, and have it safe for the future.

Thanks for the update but we may stiil be able to offer a useful opinion with a picture of both ends of the cable.

We can’t tell without pictures but the solution might be as simple as an adaptable box with a gland and a piece of conduit.

Possibly just a piece of trunking to enclose the unsheathed cable.
