Where do you put stuff, to be handy?

What’s the reason?

I have been thinking that there must be a quantum natural phenomena affecting the finding of things.
I am quite neat and organised, especially with my tools.
Sometimes I go in a particular place to pick something up and it's not there.
Then I spend lots of time searching and don't find it.
A couple of days later I go to the original place where that thing should be and in fact, there it is.
Can't be the wife moving stuff because she hasn't got garage keys and won't be interested in any of my stuff.
Got to contact professor Brian Cox and ask...

We often send each other, if you look at my picture of my cabinet, those lillys are from pete last week. I threw the card. though as his handwriting is terrible.
Oh.....if you couldn't read it it said

"To DIYNot's number 8 poster...just something to cheer you up after your work disciplinary from DIYnot's Number 1 poster (for comedy and factual information)"

One of the things for which Google glasses would be good; a video recording of what you did with your hands

Maybe even a motion activated recording of your garage

Perhaps you find things out of place and return them but don’t remeber that part (it’s not a very interesting process)

Nothing of that sort.
Example.
I have a cabinet with bolts for bicycles.
I have labels and sorting plastic cases.
In one slot last week I went to get black M4 bolts.
The correct slot was empty.
Went again a couple of days later and there they are, where they're supposed to be.
Explain that.

Wife taking the pizz,

You recently had cause to remove the plastic drawer that houses the M4 bolts and put it next to your work area. The job was interrupted. Some days later you had need of a bolt, but couldn’t find the drawer and performed a different job. Some more days later you completed the original job and returned the drawer as part of the cleanup, but tidying up is an unremarkable event and you had no concrete recollection of returning the drawer to position. Some days later you found the drawer back in position

Not finding the drawer was a remarkable event, as was finding it when the last thing you could remember was not finding it

I’m sure if you put a motion activated camera looking at the sorting system you would be able to find several clips that explained its movements, and the missing teleporting/quantum entangled bolt movements are more simply explained by unremembered activity, or possibly by another occupant gaslighting you into thinking you have dementia; my 7 year old does this to my 9 year old on a daily basis

Used to have a stack of clear plastic boxes to keep 'stuff' together and out of the way; the boxes finally failed due to UV degradation. Replaced with a home made chest of drawers, the same size as the plastic box stack. Can I find things in there now? Not easily as the wife puts things away 'safely' - the first bit of space in a drawer - any drawer! Ho Hum!
