"Rachel Reeves has said she will warn representatives of fuel companies that she will "not tolerate any company exploiting the current situation to make excess profits", as the Iran war pushes up the cost of oil."
I'm sure the fuel retailers are sh*t scared of Rachel from accounts. Has the dumb f* realised that she collects VAT on fuel?

I think MBK was trying to suggest that RR would be collecting additional VAT from higher fuel prices, and that should be her priority, not the higher fuel prices paid by the average person. What are you getting at.
The Labour party in power has certainly damaged him further that's for sure. You only need read some of his posts.Or it could be that MBK is so obsessed

It's fairly clear that Starmer and Reeves are taking an opportunity to flap their gums over an issue that has nothing to do with petrol retailers profiteering. If Reeves wanted to reduce fuel prices she could. What she is really worried about is rising fuel prices impacting her ability to increase fuel duty as per her plans. It's not the war in Iran that will drive fuel prices up long term.

Let me help you with the facts:It is well researched that petrol retailers price gouge when there is price volatility. Reminding the public to be vigilant is a good idea. Trump's various wars have already caused the price of oil to rise by more than $30 a barrel. That adds about 21p to a litre of petrol. Reversing the 5p cut in fuel duty is really neither here nor there. Your desperation to defend everything Trump does is hilarious.
| Petrol @ 132p | Diesel @ 141p | |
| Fuel Duty | 52.95p (40% of cost) | 52.95p (38% of cost) |
| VAT (20%) | 22.00p (17% of cost) | 23.50p (16% of cost) |
| Total Tax | 74.95p (57%) | 76.45p (54%) |

The Labour Party (and by extension the Conservative Party) in power damages everything! The Labour party in power has certainly damaged him further that's for sure. You only need read some of his posts.
Most of the country's taxpayers do not know just how much tax they pay, or where it goes.Based on average prices in early March 2026:
Petrol @ 132p Diesel @ 141p Fuel Duty 52.95p (40% of cost) 52.95p (38% of cost) VAT (20%) 22.00p (17% of cost) 23.50p (16% of cost) Total Tax 74.95p (57%) 76.45p (54%)
Nobody is defending Trump, but pointing out gum flapping by Starmer and Reeves.
And you imagine 'reform' will sweep to power and change that? The Labour Party (and by extension the Conservative Party) in power damages everything!

(And it is nothing to do with islam)

Odds you are perfectly right within your own Truman Show bubble of lies. But, Back to the real world, if I had told you 50 years ago that by the 2020s Britain would have imported millions of penniless Asians and Africans, and that they were changing the country to suit themselves, you would surely have called that ludicrous.Politicians brought them here, so politicians can send them back. It is not impossible.ludicrous tagline "millions must go".

glad I could educate you.. again.
I am fully aware of how fuel duty and VAT affect petrol prices.
But your attempts to deflect from the effects of Trump's wars, which dwarf the 5p fuel duty rise you are moaning about, are beyond hilarious.
