I honestly don't understand why Starmer's popularity rating is so low. It's not like he's a totally corrupt piece of lying attention seeking filth like Farage, or a totally inept m0r0n like Truss, or a totally dishonest and incompetent oaf like Johnson. See I don't get that either. The winter fuel allowance was never supposed to permanent. Why should every one of the most well off group in society be given £300 every winter to help with heating bills? What about disabled people, or working families with a low house hold income?

My mum and dad put their winter fuel allowance towards new laminate flooring in their hallway, and my mother-in-law put it towards going on holiday to Cyprus!

And what's more weird about the outrage over the winter fuel allowance being taken away is that many pensioners kept getting it, including my mother-in-law.
