If its closed, nobody told these ships

As I say, the link I posted was the only thing I could find to suggest it was still closed. It should be like a mad scramble to get out of the strait from the ships that are already there. I wonder if anyone will be returning to set course through it after they get out?
plenty going in either direction

Open except to ships that can’t leave blockaded ports
Iran has said it will close Homuz strait again if the US continue to blackade their ports. I think full steam ahead if you are passing through it at the moment. It won't last.

First few ships appear to pass through Strait of Hormuz
At just past 5am UK time, a few ships appear to have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in both directions, according to MarineTraffic.
This morning is not the same as yesterday.

Also right now both Iran and the US have a veto on ships going through, that's not open in a traditional sense, although it is a major improvement.

It was fully open before Trump went in, I fail to see how everyone is hailing this as some victory

Just watched on the news, Trump anouncing with a load of pyrotechnics going off behind him that the strait of Homuz is now open and ready for business. It's a stretch of water not a shop, ships were sailing through it freely and now having to have permission from Iran and pay a million dollars to pass, this is unbelievable how anyone can cheer at this. All hail Trump !!!!

Is is a good time to invest in oil stocks while prices are low?

Iran says control of strait of Hormuz returns to 'previous state' due to US blockade

Iran announced control of the strait of Hormuz has “reverted to its previous state” over the continuing row with the US over its naval blockade of Iranian ports.

In a statement carried by Iranian media, the Iranian military’s operational command, Khatam Al-Anbiya, described the ongoing US blockade as “piracy”, saying: “For this reason, control of the strait of Hormuz has reverted to its previous state, and this strategic waterway is under the strict management and control of the armed forces.

“Until the US restores the complete freedom of navigation for vessels from an Iranian origin to a destination, and from a destination back to Iran, the situation in the strait of Hormuz will remain strictly controlled and in its previous state.”

This adds to the confusion over the status of the key waterway that carried a fifth of global oil supplies before the war. Yesterday Iran and Donald Trump announced the strait had reopened to shipping, but the US president said the US blockade “will remain in full force” until Tehran reaches a deal with Washington, including over its nuclear programme.

Sounds like the US are putting a lot of pressure on China.
