Religion Of Peace????

There are images of the flag shagger protests with people in suits of armour - some with swords.
Much as I disagree with the whole flag shagger movement, the sword carriers were the exception.

Do they not have knives in the canteen or office kitchen? I'm pretty sure they don't have the odd ballistic handgun lying around to knock a nail or two in.

As I have shown to Ivor, knives ARE fundamentally different to handguns.
Never heard of a nail gun?

None of the above applies to some religions, they can and are expected to carry them, with no other justification needed. You really have to worry about a religion that expects its followers to need weapons at all times.
Only Sikhism requires the believers to carry a knife.
It indicates a dedication to protect the oppressed and to uphold justice.
Vickrum Digwa carried the knife with the intention of doing neither.

Religion provides excuses and opportunities for many crimes against the person by those assumed to be caring for the oppressed and to uphold justice.

No one carries a knife in this country now for any reason....end of.

Well that's what I think anyway

I used to always have a knife on me, you just cant do it nowadays. Anyone caught carrying a knife should face a prison sentence.

What isn't?
this bit:
It's nothing to do with Islam. Apparently it's a cultural tradition for Yemeni men. just like it's a tradition for Scottish men, when in traditional dress, but nothing to do with religion.
Currently only Sikhs and Scottish Highlanders are legally allowed to wear a knife as part of their culture.

see here:

Should we allow Americans who live here to carry a gun, as that's what they're used to in America? Cultural Sensitivity and all that. Any potential problems?

Indeed that’s part of their tradition to carry guns, on the same premise of culture that would be fair and equal. I will ask my mp that one.

The whole and sole reason for division in this country, is the way people are treated differently.

Only Sikhism requires the believers to carry a knife.

I believe he was carrying two knifes.

However if it’s ceremonial, then only for ceremonies should it be carried after which a locked case?

Until we treat everyone the same under the rule of UK law and not make exceptions for religions other than for ceremonies which are part of their culture.

However if we allow knifes, guns, and clothes as part of tradition then we have to also allow FGM, child marriage and so on.

All part of people’s culture.

We don’t have to go too far back to see laws changing in the UK wrt to marriage as young as 12.

Where do you draw the line on culture and historic practices which are considered inappropriate now.

Either the law applies to everyone or no one!

What’s the worse that can happen in that case? You get slapped on the legs by a big cocked Jock if he turned round too fast.
