How’s Rachael from accounts getting on…..

Strangely the rhetoric from the RW over the last decade or so has been that immigrants have been 'undercutting' the lowest paid 'indigenous lot' and taking their jobs...
They’ve been undercutting them by working off the books. All Rachel has done is make it harder for proper, legal, taxpaying companies to employ proper, legal law abiding employees. They’ll just be undercut by more now.

Tax on savings interest to rise. An extra 2% across the board for those that have to pay it. Thanks Rach.
I’m telling you, tax on cash ISA's will be next. F’cking government.
For the second time I'm at the point where I move into the next tax band. As much as I don't like paying tax and the 'Progressive Tax' word I'm beginning to think the Scottish idea of several more tax bands could be a good idea. Done carefully it could be less painful.

But I don't see how this government will ever allow the working (or for that matter the retired) man to have more money in our pockets.

Getting more without doing more? That's commie speak, according to some on here.

It has been my long - held belief that the common man won't become better off by any other means than changing their job for one that is better paid.
Otherwise, incremental increases in pay are just eroded by inflation and cost of living increases.

Brigader, I don't mean we more money in the pocket by someone (such as HMG) handing it out on a plate but by reducing taxes by direct and indirect. The present Tax band holds are becoming a disincentive to get a pay rise.

I agree that the common man usually gets more cash by changing jobs but there is such things as pay rises. Personally I've found that when you get close to the point where the income tax band changes I (you, all) need around double the rate of inflation pay rise to make a worthwhile difference.
