Nobody is objecting to paying taxes, despite the OP's nonsense. However, when the state gets too big or the safety net too comfortable, you end up as we are, where there are more net benefiters than net contributors and as the pool of those who pay more than they consume shrinks, you are left with fewer and fewer paying more and more. This makes the country uncompetitive and the majority of net contributing people have a choice, where they live and pay taxes.

The state is in a global competition for its tax paying citizens.
