Aerial Help

Hi all I'm new here so please go easy on me if I get anything wrong,

I have just moved into a new home and the aerial on the roof is pretty good as I'm getting quite a lot of stations but I'm not getting the one I really want which is Cartoon Classics on 210.
I live in Woodford Halse in Northamtonshire and was wandering if maybe there was an aerial I should buy which would be able to pick it up and also the best transmitter which broadcasts it I should point it to.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Where I live, the Freeview transmitter at Moel-y-sant only transmits non-commercial channels, so step one is the channel you want being broadcast from your transmitter?

There is a Freely which works on the internet, no aerial required. And also Freesat which uses a dish, the Freesat has a different selection, it does not have some but also has programs not found on Freeview.

The satellite TV also has free to air, with this the program guide is not as good, but seems to have more programs to Freesat.

I think you should be looking for 214, not 210

Well I've spent a bit of time investigating your problem.

Woodford Halse only repeats 3 mux's of 6 broadcast by the parent Mast (Sutton Coldfield). The channel you are asking about is on one of the Mux's not broadcast. Sorry, not much can be done except can you get it by streaming?

Thank you very much for looking into this for me, no can't get it on my telly through the internet, the big kid in me will have to go without I suppose lol.

Thank-you @Diver Fred it is the same where I live in Mid-Wales. Lucky new TV does connect to the internet, and can connect to the Sky dish direct, without using the Sky box.

However, the older TV's in the bedrooms, do not have this option, so it needs a set-top box, well set bottom, could hardly balance it on top of today's TVs.

I have collected a number of satellite boxes through the years, and they all still seem to work in a fashion, what is lacking is the electronic program guide, and the auto scan for channels display them with what seems a random numbering, one can re-order the channels, so you can have the channels you want grouped together, and you can delete the girly and god channels, but easy to spend an hour deleting unwanted channels.

I find myself watching YouTube a lot, old films, but older than me, so not seen them before. Good thing is a satellite dish does not need to be high up, so no long ladders needed, maybe a set of steps, so not knocked.

I've answered this on another forum.

That channel is on the Local TV muxes LCN210 from some transmitters... Aimed into large conurbations not rural locations. Very unlikely to be received in Woodford Halse (either from the relay of Sutton Coldfield, SC itself or Oxford or Sandy Heath which are all predicted as receivable to some extent).

Of those SC and Oxford do transmit Local TV muxes... towards Birmingham and Oxford City (so the opposite direction to Northamptonshire).

It's not streamed over the interweb, which I find unusual in this day and age.

As an aside when I lived in the Lowestoft area I could just get the Local TV mux from Tacolneston aimed at Norwich... but it was unreliable (and far outwith the target service area). Here, there is no local tv mux from Sandy Heath.
