Development planned on bird habitat

There's a planning application in for 14 houses in an area densely packed with trees and birds and nests

Now I don't know if these birds are protected species bit it's disappointing to think that this could be just cut down and lost

What are the chances of an objection on these grounds being successful pe how would I go about making this objection . Thanks

I dont want trees cut down or habitat destroyed but when it comes to newts I think great crested newts are the most prolific and widespread creature in the UK that is supposed to be in danger because whenever someone want s to build then they are always there!
Go and have a look see if you can find one.

An extensive ecology report will have been necessary to accompany the planning application, find it and have a read.

Its not but it creates a job for people in barber jackets espicually when mega bucks are being thrown around by builders, -- bat surveys will be needed too by a similar hand in the pocket of the builder - same as section 106. No wonder houses cost so much before a spade has even hit the ground.

It absolutely would be necessary, anything involving a development of this kind would require such a report. For obvious reasons.

No I assumed your point was from a cynical perspective but in reality we do need such beaurocracy, their effectiveness and handling is another subject.
