fixing battens to thermalite blockwork(settle argument)

We used to use "cut nails when putting skirting on to thermalites, and bend them around as you nail them home. But now with all the "Grip" adhesives on the market I would probably suggest putting something like "Sticks like SH#T " on them... Maybe drill and plug to hold it till the adhesive goes off.....
