!st pic yes, attach to where the existing green & yellow (earth) wire is attached in the back of the socket. The purpose is to earth the socket to the metal box.
2nd pic, you could try some plumbers (ptfe) tape on the end of the bolt to "thicken" it fits tightly into the brass threaded nut.
