    Fixing Mirror to Dry-Lined Wall

Just one other thought, with these anchor fittings, will the fixing still be secure enough after backing off the screw a few turns to hang the frame on to??? Cheers all...

    Fixing Mirror to Dry-Lined Wall

Ok, thats sounds easy enough... Just hope there is enough clearance between the back of the p/board and the block for the anchor to open... We shall see...

    Fixing Mirror to Dry-Lined Wall

The description says you need one of these to set it... http://www.screwfix.com/search.do;jsessionid=L4II055C4GJUWCSTHZOSFFY?_dyncharset=UTF-8&fh_search=12429 Is this really necessary? Of course I will need to wind the screws back a couple of turns for the mirror frame hooks to sit on...

Hi all, It's been a while... Quick Q, looking to hang a mirror approx 8KG onto a dry lined dividing wall. So 1/2 inch plaster board + space of 1 - 3 cms then the air block. Have a few ideas; 1, x2 Redidriva either side of mirror to hang it on - not quite sure what the max load of...

    Help finding replacement switch!!!

Many thanks for the response Steve. I have been a bit of a plonka... When I traced the wire back from the bell, it went to the alarm panel. Must act as an internal speaker. The plate on the door frame was a bit of a red herring. Hence, I don't have an existing system to worry about...

    Help finding replacement switch!!!

Hi - would be easier to just fit a new push button. As there is nowhere to plug in a replacement. I think this is wired to the CU, which is close by. Can I not just buy a switch from somewhere?

Evening all, Have a very quick q re door bell/chime. Just moved into a house which has a door chime mounted internally above the door. However what remains of the switch outside is just the mounting plate. Someone must have half inched it. I have removed the cover off the chime unit and...

    Smelly Shower Room

Hi dextrous, it seems so bloody obvious now you point it out, but I think that is exactly what the problem was. Doh... We only moved in a few weeks ago and that's how it was left. The smell has almost instantly disappeared after following your suggestion. I can se where the tube dips into...

    Smelly Shower Room

It's like some kind of plastic paddle which is attached to the bottom. I think I might try to replace the whole trap with a new one. That way I know I have all the right bits. What's the safest way to remove a plastic trap from a plastic tray that's been sealed in using silicone. Without causing...

    Smelly Shower Room

Quick update... Removed the grill from the plug hole and checked the depth of the trap. I can confirm that the grill tube thing does not make contact with the water. See image below. Does it look as though something is missing or is this normal. Either way, it's not blocking the smells...

    Smelly Shower Room

Ah... Maybe some fool has lost it when cleaning it out... Is it worth replacing the whole trap for a like for like one, to make sure all the bits are present?

    Smelly Shower Room

Kevplumb, I'm assuming its connected direct as I don't want to pull up the tilled T&G chipboard panels. :( Could there be another trap of some kind further along the pipe?
