I have a concrete post that is too long. I'm told the shorter one was out of stock and that the plan is to cut the bottom off before it is postcreted in, with a layer of postcrete on the bottom to protect the newly exposed rebar ends. I'm concerned that the postcrete is not waterproof and the...
I have a bundle of cat5e/cat6 and AV cables to go through a plasterboard ceiling down into a patch cabinet in my house. Above the ceiling is an accessible loft. I could drill a 110mm hole in the ceiling, put the cables through and then seal the gaps up with spray foam.
Is there a gland or...
What is recommended practice for fire zones?
I've set my Texecom smoke detector zones to a separate area just for smoke detectors. This is because I don't want the external sounders going off if a fire zone is triggered. But I do want internal sounders and keypads to sound on a fire event...
Thanks, I'll measure the current drawn from the PSU to check the accuracy of Wintex.
I can mount the 200XP near to the main panel. Would it be best used to power all the networks, and leave the panel to just deal with bell, and smartcom duty? Or should I share out the networks between panel and...
Just to expand on why so many zones - I have 4 little sheds and a garage, each with at least a keypad, pir, magnetic contact and smoke. I have PIRs everywhere for occupancy detection which is integrated with the home automation system.
1 x 18ah battery,
9 keypads
2 bells - SCB.
~20 smoke detectors
~25 PIRs
~20 ricochet window contacts
rest are magnetic contacts or inputs from a home automation system
Soon will add another 2 keypads, 4 smokes, 5 PIRs, 5 ricochet, 8 magnetic contacts...
I have a Premier Elite 640 with approx 80 zones all powered from the main panel.
For testing, no bells are connected, no other power sources to the expanders, no batteries in any zones.
*Without* the panel battery connected, the system current is stable at 1.9A
With the panel battery...
Thanks for the replies. Yes he is G3 Registered, so it makes for an awkward conversation - which is why I was checking here.
I specced the 90l cylinder. This is a Summer house annexe with a single shower. It will have the biggest coil I can get in it (22kW) I wanted rapid re-heat, but not to...
My plumber has laid PVC 32mm solvent weld waste pipe ready for the pressure and temperature relief drainage for a new 90l unvented indirect cylinder.
Is this ok? I thought metal was recommended but he says it is high temp waste pipe.
Will it cause me problems on an annual inspection?
Here's a...
Yes, thank you all sorted now, I have a separate com-ip used for Home Assistant and the Smartcom for Texecom Cloud. I've also found that thread thank you.
Panel all upgraded now cheers all. Texecom support said there was no other flasher version! So I bought a USB cable, and it upgraded straight away.
Now I've got a few evenings ahead of me to reprogram the config again. :-)
Yes it is a proper JAA-001 - thanks for the pointer. I'll contact support to get the software.
I'm not clear on what you meant? The panel was previously configured to use all 3 com ports, with the 3rd one configured as Com IP. The screen shot was just to confirm that all 3 com ports are now...
Here's another video showing the process I'm following from power up to pressing flash.
The flasher has pin 1 marked as the top left pin when it is plugged into the board. This matches the instructions here.
