Sealing shower tray before enclosure installation?

Hi, Thanks for the reply.(y) Removing the grout is pretty straight forward and unfortunately there is no room for a grout rake on this one so it will be a carbide blade in the Stanley....the joys of narrow grout lines. The grout already in place or only just is soft and patchy, the Micorban...

Sealing shower tray before enclosure installation?

Hi, I have come to do a job because our bathroom fitter has left us in a bad way with a bathroom that is a total can of worms and has said they just had a bad day but wont come back to fix it. So the grout has failed mostly within the quadrant shower enclosure and when I have spoken to Mapei...

    Brick Unknown

Hi, I think I might possibly have the only brick in the UK that no one seems to have ever seen. These bricks have been used on an estate in Yorkshire and we are desperate find out what they are or if there is something similar to use on the house. Has anyone seen this brich before? Many...

    Repointing mortar

Hi, I am not expert in this but I am trying to come close not match exactly but get as close to the original mortar as possible. The house was built in 1992 and since the mortar has weathered significantly on one half of the property but the other half is very sheltered and remains very much...

New combi boiler, rads, TRV's on 10mm microbore pipework....noisy rads and loud tapping in ceiling?

This has been done by taking it from 70c to 60c and it has helped a little with the loud hissing in the rads but the rest remains unchanged.

New combi boiler, rads, TRV's on 10mm microbore pipework....noisy rads and loud tapping in ceiling?

It is true the WB engineer is only responsible for the workings of the boiler, however at the time when we had called WB out we were trying to get to the bottom of the issue as at this point we only have the hissing in the rads and the chattering at two TRV's. Also our installer recommended we...

New combi boiler, rads, TRV's on 10mm microbore pipework....noisy rads and loud tapping in ceiling?

We had 3 WB engineers out, one of which was a lead engineer who told me they come out to jobs like this when customer refuse to believe there is nothing wrong with their system so they send an engineer in a white shirt. He then left several items of testing equipment in my garage and went home...

New combi boiler, rads, TRV's on 10mm microbore pipework....noisy rads and loud tapping in ceiling?

Hi, You thoughts are very similar to mine, so I will be adjusting the flow temperature today as I know it is on 70c at the moment and the rads when they come on they are almost instant and you cannot touch them at all even when the are set to 4 on the TRV's.....boil an egg status on these rads...

New combi boiler, rads, TRV's on 10mm microbore pipework....noisy rads and loud tapping in ceiling?

Hi, Personally I wouldn't say a basic combi boiler is overly complicated especially in the grand scheme of some sets up these days. There was some some form of boiler there already for the hot water and it is installed in a small 2 bed bungalow with only 7 rads. The older system was...

New combi boiler, rads, TRV's on 10mm microbore pipework....noisy rads and loud tapping in ceiling?

I will agree 110% on that one, it is money savings tactics gone very wrong but thankfully not quite as bad as the polypipe they use these days in new builds. The pump pressure isn't something I can change myself on the WB 4000 combi boiler, unless you know otherwise. The only thing I can...

New combi boiler, rads, TRV's on 10mm microbore pipework....noisy rads and loud tapping in ceiling?

Hi Folks, I am posting in this forum as my Worcester Bosch certified engineer of 40 years has no clue about this and we are at the stage nearly a year on where we are just stabbing in the dark. He says he has never come across this before albeit he his work has spanned new and older home and...

Rising humid air from under the floorboards????

We live in a mid terrace and we have 3 air bricks to the front and 2 to the rear, I had thought that was ample for a small 2 bedro Just checked the air bricks and when I put a chisel knife through the holes it hits a brick, we have honey comb sleepers below ground level so I am unsure although...
