    Cracks between plasterboards

Both wall and cieling. The cracks are that small that I'm not sure if I could fit the CT1 as well as the Redlite. What about Skilaflex? I read that that can be sanded after it's set so even if I add too much I can sand it back.

    Cracks between plasterboards

I decided to go for the CT1. It seems like it's easier to apply. I'm just wondering if I really need the filler on top of it. If it's like a sealant but can be painted over, will it not do the job on it's own if it's a small crack? I'm wondering if it's less likely to reappear that way given...

    Cracks between plasterboards

Thanks again opps. Sounds like the flex paper might be a bit thick for the job. It is a small crack. Already bought the Redlite on ebay. Now trying to decide between the CT1 and Fibracryl. Also, I think I need to sand away the paint in the corner first right? If I put the Redlite straight over...

    Cracks between plasterboards

Hi oops. Thanks again! If I understand correctly you're suggesting using a combo of CT1 first followed by Redlite rather Fibacryl and Redlite as that will be more resistive to movement. I don't think I'd want to scrape away massive amounts of plaster so I only need a little bit. The price...

    Cracks between plasterboards

Ken, Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think a cove would work in this case, because none of the other walls have it so it would look a bit out of place. I was thinking of getting a narrow strip of lining paper and folding it half way to fit into the corner. Before that I would need to...

    Cracks between plasterboards

Good evening Ken, Could you explain what you mean by cove? Other than a bay by the sea I haven't heard of that term. It could be a strip of plasterboard. I'm not sure to be honest. It feels solid (not paper) but quite thin. It's just under 3cm wide.

    Cracks between plasterboards

Hi opps. Thank you for that detailed description of the process. That's very helpful. It seems like Toupret Fibacyl + Redlite is the way to go. I just have one more question. I also have a slightly different but similar problem, where I get cracks were the walls meet ceiling. I parts the lining...

    Cracks between plasterboards

Hey guys, Could anyone recommend a filler for plasterboard joints? I can see a plethora of fillers like ready-made, powder, putty, decorators caulk. Which one has the greatest flexibility/resistance to movement?

    Cracks between plasterboards

Ok thanks Ken. I'll go with the lining paper as you suggested. One last question, what kind of filler would you suggest? Will standard premixed polly-filler do or something else?

    Cracks between plasterboards

Hi Ken, Thanks you for the explanation about the paper. Could I get some details on how to put it on? Should I pre-fill the crack before laying on the paper? Do I need to put glue on the paper before sticking it on? Once it sticks on, do I just paint over the top?

    Cracks between plasterboards

Ok thanks mattylad. So is the procedure: Scrape out the crack, pre-fill, stick paper on then put more filler on top? What sort of putty/filler should I use?

    Cracks between plasterboards

No I haven't heard of lining paper. It looks similar to wallpaper when I see it on the youtube videos. I'm not really keen on covering the whole wall as it's a big job, but if I use a narrow strip, I'm not sure how to make the edges not show up. I have heard of scrim tape but I'm not sure how...

    Cracks between plasterboards

Hi, There are lots of cracks in on the walls of my flat where two plasterboards meet. The building isn’t settling because it’s 8 years old now but I think the walls still move ever so slightly especially from summer to winter when I turn the heating on. I tried fixing one by scrapping it out and...
