Musty smell in kitchen cabinet for years

Thanks for your reply. How can I take the units off to check what's on the walls? Would I need to take everything off all the way to the sink, or is it possible just to take off the section of cabinet nearest the cooker that has the musty smell? Would I need an electric screwdriver to do this...

Musty smell in kitchen cabinet for years

The one by the cooker yes. There is no musty smell in the cabinet directly underneath the sink. Yes. The third picture below, the arrow points towards the upper corner that's nearest to the musty cabinet. Only a washing machine. A section of the waste pipe was recently replaced because it...

Musty smell in kitchen cabinet for years

There are no leaks underneath the sink, washing machine, waste pipe, etc. The combi boiler and fridge which are on the other side of the kitchen don't have any leaks either. It's a first floor, end flat, and the exterior wall is on the other side of the wall where the cabinet is.

Musty smell in kitchen cabinet for years

Update: the plates and cutlery I had cleaned and put back in the cabinet now have that familiar musty smell. I can't use the cabinet for storage because it make everything inside it smell. I'm at a loss as to where the musty smell might be coming from. The area behind the plinth was cleaned...

Musty smell in kitchen cabinet for years

I took the plinth off a few months ago and found some debris on the floor as well as mould on the back wall which I removed. It now looks like this: I think this reduced the musty smell but there's still a lingering odour inside the cabinet. I'm wondering if it just needs more time to air out...

Musty smell in kitchen cabinet for years

I've cleaned the cabinet thoroughly but the musty smell always returns. The countertop above is dry. None of the other kitchen cabinets have this issue. I've noticed the small hole in the top left-hand corner. I wonder if that could be where the smell is coming from. Drawer:

    What is this hinge called?

I want to replace two kitchen cabinet hinges that have rusted. When I search for replacements, the results show hinges with different names and degree sizes that don't look the same as mine. What is this hinge called? Thanks.

    Damp smell behind bathroom sink

In the wetroom of a council rented flat. The smell comes from the hole where the sink trap goes through. It's a damp, organic, rotten wood smell. I sprayed some bleach solution inside, but because the gap is small I couldn't spray it very far. What would be the best way to treat this and stop...

Filling this void space underneath kitchen cabinet?

This old pipe is located behind my oven and goes through a space underneath a kitchen cabinet. The cabinet always has a musty smell despite being regularly cleaned. Meanwhile the cabinet on the other side that doesn't have a pipe running underneath it has no smell. I was wondering if I could...

Does leaving it on the ON setting use energy if the wall thermostat is turned down and the radiators are off?

Mira Advanced shower has stopped draining water

Water comes out of shower fine but the drainage function has just stopped. This has happened before and a plumber fixed it immediately. However, I didn't ask them how they did it because at the time there were several other problems with the shower. I've tried long pressing the shower button...

Least disruptive way to knock down tiled cabinet?

In my shower wetroom there's a tiled cabinet attached to the wall that is used to store a shower pump. This cabinet is rotten through on the inside and needs to be removed and replaced. It's a council property and workmen and scheduled to come round in a few days to knock it down. The thing is...
