I have spoken with the plasterer. His opinion is that it is not an asbestos containing material - because it is a lighter material.
The only way the ceiling can be repaired is by removing it - because it has dropped from the loft.
Maybe it needs sampling first...
I have asked a plasterer to come in and reskim the bedroom ceiling in an alcove. It has a stipple effect, and I am supposing that this artex contains asbestos.

In our airing cupboard/boiling room there is a bit of exposed celing (i.e. the boards don't go all the way). Above that are wooden joists, and covering those joists is a yellow fibre.
My presumption is that it is fibreglass. It could be rockwool too. However, I am now concerned...
