    There is no problem in using an extension socket from the phone line for your router. Mine is the other side of the house (including going via 2 slave sockets before the slave it is plugged into) and I get 12Mbts broadband!! Don't forget you will need another filter for the extension, but...

    Is this lampholder OK to use

    I guess this is the reason they have a caveat - it would be impossible to change ALL the bulb holders AND bulbs in the whole UK, so they allow them to remain!!

    Yes, this is on a seperate breaker. As I said in the first post, this is an existing unit which has gone faulty. All I intend doing is to change out the unit to the SFO - I could even remove the flex from the water heater end and replace the existing flex into the new unit!! Power rating...

    As a NON qualified electrician - but with electronic training - would I be able to install a 3kW over sink water heater to replace an old unit??? The Switched Fused Outlet is existing, so all that is needed is to remove the old flex and replace with the new.
