Thanks all. Problem is it's been placed in such an awkward spot in my airing cupboard that I'd work almost blind.
I think I'll try my luck and keep it like this this winter, and just pre-schedule a short HW call every day when I'm away so it resets it into position.
But back to my original...
yep that's an option
Alternatively... Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I set the switch on the valve to manual, it'll stay in CH only and presumably will never use the motor? Am I right?
they quoted me for the full valve not just the motor, so I assume this'd require a full drain although I'd need to confirm with the actual technician (quote was from their office)
it's been like that for the past 8 years, the buzzing hasn't gone worse + got quoted £290 (with VAT) for the job + will need a full drain + I'll sell the house in spring
Hi all. So I have this Honeywell 3 port valve that occasionnally stays buzzing when heating is off, when CH was the last call. Usually I'd either turn power off or turn HW on briefly to reset it. You know the drill, common issue on that thing.
I'm going on a long holiday this winter and I'll...
Hello. This is for a bathroom, which I want to repaint to white. There used to be a thick layer of silicon on that area above the tiles (don't ask why); the silicon wasn't suitable and started curling up and pulling the paint, so I removed it. By removing it, it obviously detached paint from the...
I'm not Prime, can return but might have to pay for postage, not worth the hassle it's just a fiver. I'll just keep it and add a rubber seal (I have a few), and if that doesn't work then I can fall back on the rad valve extender option.
@robinbanks It was my original plan to remove the flexible and put a longer one (I have a few already) but I just can't remove it, I have no grip at all on the attached end. No give in the copper pipe at all either.
Thank you all for your help. I bought the piece from Amazon, as I couldn't...
Brilliant, thank you! It's not clear to me whether the product includes the compression nut and olive, or if I have to buy this separately, would you know?
Nope, but I think I found what I need, only on Amazon/eBay:

@Madrab alternatively would you know what tool I could use to unscrew the flexible from the tap? Basically it's too far inside the tap casing, I cannot reach it with a spanner, I have no idea how this got screwed to start with. (I received the tap with the flexibles already attached)
