The cistern can't be raised as it is already tight up against the shelf above it. Were it possible to get a fitting that does an immediate 90 degrees out of the cistern it would work OK, but I can't see myself finding one. The alternative is to get a chippy to cut the shelf out and put in a low...
A bathroom company (no longer trading) installed a wet room and raised the toilet pedestal. The outlet from the concealed cistern is a flexi which now has its own U bend forced into it and leaks.

It does seem to me that nobody has thought of how these variable pumps can affect a system that is less than perfect. When the original Grundfos Alpha came out we fitted lots, and we too found that there was a tendency in some cases for the boiler to lockout on overheat as presumably the pump...

Seeing as nobody has succeeded in fixing the boiler so far I don't see a problem in Ideal technical offering support to get them going in the right direction.
I have an Ideal Turbo 2.18....still trogging along happily after 21 years now.

So its possible that the original system was just pumping round the HW cylinder until the boiler stat was satisfied and the 2 port was wired up to a roomstat for the radiators....?
Seen that a few times on naff housing developments penny pinching.
All the same..if the installer you used...
I'd just put some more inhibitor in mate. You never know. Well whoever put that in obviously never knew either.
If my budgerigar did an install like that I'd still sack him.
