    Mira Flight Tray - Waste

I saw this earlier, my tray isn't affect by this issue as the casting is flat. Someone in the comments mentioned it may be affecting the trays with the 50mm wastes only. Mine has a 90mm waste. I've done the same test as the video and there is no water leaking. I didn't use silicone to attach...

    Mira Flight Tray - Waste

I've just bought a Mira Flight Low 900mm Quadrant (https://www.wolseley.co.uk/product/mira-flight-low-quadrant-tray-no-upstands-900-white/) which comes with a "vortex" waste which is their own make rather than a generic one. Is the supplied waste any good or should I change it for a McAlpine...

    Hotpoint BF71 Dishwasher not working

We tried tipping it back 45 degrees to see if it would reset the flood sensor but it made no difference. Checked for blockages under the filters and it was all clear. Managed to reset the controls by pressing the 65c and 55c buttons together and that got the drain pump to kick in, but when...

    Hotpoint BF71 Dishwasher not working

We have a Hotpoint BF71 dishwasher (I believe it is a Bosch in disguise). It’s around 20 years old. When we start it we can hear a motor noise (like a humming) but nothing actually happens. There is about 1cm of water at the very bottom of the dishwasher and the filters are clean. The timer...

Washing Machine - Smelly rubber parts

I’ve only used powder in it but I got the machine used so maybe the previous owner used them

Washing Machine - Smelly rubber parts

Put it back together, ran a 90 degree wash with soda crystals and the funk is gone! Hopefully it doesn't come back after a few days. The water in the drum was clear on the 90 degree wash so I didn't feel the need to run it again.

Washing Machine - Smelly rubber parts

I soaked the part which was caked in limescale in 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water for around 18 hours and the limescale just brushed off (pic attached). Looking on eBay, most of these parts from used machines had thick limescale on them. I'm not in a hard water area (North West) so the...

Washing Machine - Smelly rubber parts

Defo not the sink waste and the machine smelt mouldy after disconnection from the waste. I don’t use fabric softener and only powdered laundry soap. Agree on bleach sorting drain smells but this seems to be coming from the rubber components of the machine

Washing Machine - Smelly rubber parts

Filter is clear and the pump seems to be ok although it is 10 years old so could be slowing down a bit. The vent hoses were blocked a bit so that could have been causing issues with draining but I didn’t have any drainage faults on the machine. I’ve run the cleaning cycle many times - it...

Washing Machine - Smelly rubber parts

Got some white vinegar and soaked that plastic part in it and it’s already started to come loose when agitated with a brush. I thought it was soap build up because it smelt of detergent but clearly not. I’ve left the hoses in the vinegar solution but will remove them shortly as I don’t want to...

Washing Machine - Smelly rubber parts

I've ordered some soda crystals which should come tomorrow. Will soak the parts in that overnight. Theres some dried on soap (looks like limescale but it has a frgrance) on the rubber parts, I dont want to scrape it with anything metal to avoid puncturing the rubber, is there anything I can...

Washing Machine - Smelly rubber parts

I've got a mouldy smell coming from my washing machine when it hasnt been used for a couple of weeks. I always leave the machine door open, take out the soap drawer, dry off the main seal and water inlet (the bit above the soap drawer). It's had plenty of hot washes, washed with bleach, washed...

    Mira Atom ERD Leaking

Hmm, might be best to leave it, I'd rather it leak on the outside into the shower tray than inside the wall. Cheers for the help!

    Mira Atom ERD Leaking

Probably the same weapon who installed the loft light and switched it on the neutral wire! I do remember there being some Z connectors behind when I had the shower off to replace the diverter outlet part. I've not come across these Z connectors before. I appreciate this is a difficult...
