Ide be ashamed in giving any body advise to fitting a isolation valve to hw draw off dickheads like you give half decent engineers a bad name...back to college son and decide if you were taught to fit these valves to a cylinder I wasnt

James this has been solved as suspected faulty mixing valve, sorry pal but irs a no no to fitting any isolation valve to hw draw off ....basic common sense hope youve not fitted any. Or it raises eyeyebrows why you would be giving out dangerous suggestion ...not rocket science

James ive been time served since 1984 appreciate your thoughts but ive never fitted a gatevalve or isolation to anywhere on the dhw draw off of my poss 1000 hot water cylinders...just not the done thing mate but unless your only suggesting for investigation purposes.

James bear in mind were not idiots only looking initially for other possibilities that we have overlooked. ..I know what volume means

only emerges when no water is drawn but can take up to 20 mins , expansion of water is usualy 10% we have allowed for this and lowerd the level of ballcock in cws and it still was rising to overflow

its a direct cylinder so no coil fitted
