Heat off boiler idle Pressure was at 1 (low should be 1.5) started heating pressure fell to 0.75 initially then after 5 mins returned to 1. Then I filled it up to 1.5. Many thanks - what a fantastic site this is..!

Well I've put an empty carton on outside overflow pipe from boiler and it filled up 5 pints within two days. Why would this be apart from faulty release valve please.

Also - sorry should've mentioned earlier, water level keeps dropping sometimes to zero and have to keep refilling to 1.5 plus. What does water level drop indicate please..?

whilst at it what else would be a good idea to replace the DHW? Heat Exchanger ? anything else..?

Yes - replaced switch last year - have wrapped some tape around it as it seemed to have a weak pressing action. Also in summer - whilst having a long bath, radiators warmed up.

Hi newbie here.. Vaillant Turbomax 282 (10yrs old) that suffers from poor or no hot water. Heating fine. Fitted new diaphragm in diverter last year. But suspect Diverter valve needed. Would prefer to keep boiler going. Considering replacing Diverter Valve - but don't mind replacing other...
