Hi newbie here.. Vaillant Turbomax 282 (10yrs old) that suffers from poor or no hot water. Heating fine. Fitted new diaphragm in diverter last year. But suspect Diverter valve needed. Would prefer to keep boiler going.

Considering replacing Diverter Valve - but don't mind replacing other commonly known weak parts even if some life left in them it would be a 'reset to new' point. Putting the saving on labour towards new parts.

1 Would sympoms above be Diverter Valve ?

2 Any suggestions which parts would be good to effectively return boiler to 'as new' functionality ?

Yes - replaced switch last year - have wrapped some tape around it as it seemed to have a weak pressing action. Also in summer - whilst having a long bath, radiators warmed up.

Fraid it is time fora a complete new diverter valve, the shhuttle is shot - o rings split. Sounds expensive , but will replace all three things repaired so far. P/no 011289 £110 ish.

BTW you still don't need a new boiler ;)

DHW Heat exchanger would not be a bad idea. One tip though once the boiler is depressurized (dont touch the isolation valves if you can avoid it) Pump up the expansion vessel to 10 psi before you start to change the DV
;)

whilst at it what else would be a good idea to replace the DHW? Heat Exchanger

well if you want a new shiny one yeah

might not be a bad idea to at least give it a tap and rinse out (after you remove it) ;)

Come on kevplumb a tap an a wash out u might as well **** in the wind! U b tellin em it's clear if u can blow through it next ...acid is only stuff for these kamco hd or disinex from antares

Also - sorry should've mentioned earlier, water level keeps dropping sometimes to zero and have to keep refilling to 1.5 plus. What does water level drop indicate please..?

Well I've put an empty carton on outside overflow pipe from boiler and it filled up 5 pints within two days. Why would this be apart from faulty release valve please.
