Vaillant hot water problem

Hi

I have an old Vaillant Turbomax VUW 282/1E. As soon as the boiler is powered up the dhw led lights up without any taps on. The heating circuit then warms up even though only dhw is selected.

Could it just be the diverter valve/flow switch or could there be other reasons?

It's likely your DHW flow switch is stuck on. Try tracing the wires to it and removing one and then see if your boiler still fires

Almost certainly diverter valve leaking onto its microswitch. Replace valve complete is the best option.

It sounds like it could be the diverter valve but i'd recommend you call your installer out before doing any replacing
