There isn't any ridge or lip at all

Hi we have a dripping tap and have old taps with a red & green plug (like a tiddly wink) in the top of the tap which we assume you have to remove to be able to get to the screw which undoes the top replace the washer, but we have tried everything to try to remove it, we have tried with scissors...

We've managed to install the limefighter but we have a slight leak, have tried thread secure tape and sealant, any one have any other ideas?

Will do, although it is at least 11 yrs old not sure they will repace it free of charge!

It is the jacket of the limefighter that has a pin hole in it! Is it a case of turning the water off, unscrewing the old and fitting the new?

Does anyone know how easy it is to fit a liff limefighter to a combi boiler? I have an existing one but it has sprung a leak so needs replacing, could I do it myself? Thanks Anne

BG have been again and have said that it is an airlock in the system that is causing the pilot light to go out! They have taken a sample of the water to analyse and said that a powerflush should cure it (surprise, surprise) The engineer said that when the heat exchanger was replaced the air...

It varies, could run for an hour or sometimes two, have run BG again to come and check it out yet again!

After many visits from BG they have replaced the Heat Exchanger and surprise surprise all leaks have stopped! Only now the pilot light keeps going out when then heating is running!!! any ideas?

So what's the reasoning then?

That explains the reluctance to change the part, sorry, he'll have to fund his own Easter Eggs this year..lol

Thanks for this, BG engineer came yesterday and low and behold the previous engineer hadn't replaced the heat exchanger as he said he would as they cost £600 and this is what's leaking, obviously saw pound signs for a new boiler flash before his eyes, new part being orderd and hopefully they...
