    Changing Light Fitting, extending wire.

Sorry, not ignoring you securespark, thanks. Both toolstation and screwfix sell the splicelines in packs of either 10 or 100. Yeah may be bag size, although thats not very helpful to consumer lol.

I've just watched a video about them and they are quite small lol, seems screwfix need to edit their specs lol

How big are the splicelines? Screwfix website saying 110mm long and 100mm wide, seems quite large, might be easier to use 6A terminal blocks? Andy

    Changing Light Fitting, extending wire.

Terry, I will eventually get round to changing all the switches and sockets lol. The house is nearly new and had all chrome light fittings already but the previous owners picked different fittings for each room and it looked mismatched lol so changing em all the fitting I've attached below. I'll...

Thanks Terry, thats the one thing I was worried about. I considered using something like this wagobox junction box which I can push up into hole in ceiling. Does this junction box look suitable? Cheers

It does Yes Terry but I managed to get the metal tag back in by gently bending it a bit, just couldn't get in with any screwdriver to fix the connector block back to the light fitting, (light fitting is about 11" diameter so difficult to tilt it enough to get access.

Thanks, I thought it might be but then thought it's fixed to the inside of the light fitting for a reason so thought I'd better check, if its easy enough extending the lighting cable then I don't mind taking the light fitting back down again and doing it properly. Just thought I'd check peoples...

    Changing Light Fitting, extending wire.

Hi, I am currently changing the majority of the light fittings in our house that we moved into 8 months ago. Most of them were straight forward. One of them, the lighting cable wasn't quite long enough and didn't have any slack in the ceiling to pull some more through. The only way I was able...

Veritas r8 pre 1999 installation manual??

Hi all, Does anyone please have a .pdf copy of a veritas r8 installation manual for the pre-1999 models? We have 2 veritas alarm systems on our house, one was installed in 1995 when the house was built, the 2nd was installed in 2007. I have a manual for the newer system but the older system I...

Veritas R8 Pre-2000 model magnetic contact problem.

Thank you, good idea!! To be honest, I was wrongly under the impression that the two wires were 12v +/- and was careful not to let them touch, I've now been told that they aren't 12v wires so I will try that idea. Andy

Veritas R8 Pre-2000 model magnetic contact problem.

Hi all, I've just replaced the keypad on a veritas r8 pre-2000 system as the old keypad had few worn buttons which weren't working correctly. The new keypad seems to be working fine yet at the same time I also replaced the magnetic contact on our front door as it was very hit and miss, think it...
