Sorry, not ignoring you securespark, thanks. Both toolstation and screwfix sell the splicelines in packs of either 10 or 100. Yeah may be bag size, although thats not very helpful to consumer lol.

I've just watched a video about them and they are quite small lol, seems screwfix need to edit their specs lol

How big are the splicelines? Screwfix website saying 110mm long and 100mm wide, seems quite large, might be easier to use 6A terminal blocks? Andy

Thanks Terry, thats the one thing I was worried about. I considered using something like this wagobox junction box which I can push up into hole in ceiling. Does this junction box look suitable? Cheers

It does Yes Terry but I managed to get the metal tag back in by gently bending it a bit, just couldn't get in with any screwdriver to fix the connector block back to the light fitting, (light fitting is about 11" diameter so difficult to tilt it enough to get access.

Thank you, good idea!! To be honest, I was wrongly under the impression that the two wires were 12v +/- and was careful not to let them touch, I've now been told that they aren't 12v wires so I will try that idea. Andy
