Sorry did'nt explain the situation very well I'm replacing a dual tarrif board it has 4 circuits on normal tarrif and 3 on economy 7, I can get a 10 way dual board but my thinking is if i have to put in an RCD as well as main switch i will only have space for 3 MCB's. Is it ok to replace...

Hi Chaps Can i use an RCD as my main isolator in a CU? I thought this was ok but I have been told its not allowed i need to have a main isolator then an RCD then my MCB's Thanks

Did'nt get to see OPD Pyro looked small i'm guessing 2.5 1 Lighting circuit,1 Radial, Heating and cooker T&E runs under the home then comes up through floor

I went to look at potential job in a static home the other day and was amazed to see the incoming supply to CU was wired in 2.5 T&E, I checked outside and it looks like Pyro is the supply to the static it then joins the T&E in an external joint box Is this right?

tapping into swa would be easier than running another cable back down from cu the 6mm is protected by a 32amp mcb

is it acceptable to install a weatherproof socket into an existing 6mm swa cable suppling power to a shed ? the circuit is protected by an rcd the circuit feeds a double socket and a 80w fluorescent light in shed

Thanks chaps for your replies, does the fact that i'm using insulated cu's affect the way i connect glands to cu?

I have connected phase,neutral and earth as normal was just wondering if armour had to be used as earth as well

If using 3 core ( the 3rd core used as an earth) S.W.A. do i still have to use glands on the ends to maintain cpc continuity? Both ends of cable are to be connected to insulated cu's
