Could i Replace with wood instead of screed, this is the kitchen area so it has gas water and ch pipes laying across the block and beam floor.

Thanks for the reply,didnt see any dpm just block and beam polystyrene and screed,i can send you a pic if you are interested to see it. it looks a mess thoigh where i tried to piece back the styrene,also this is the upstairs of the house not ground floor all rooms are upstairs i think it is...

I have to Replace some Kitchen floor Screed that was crumbling, the area is about 3x3 sq metres existing screed thickness is 40mm, i could do with some positve and helpfull advice on repairing this.The floor is block and beam with polystyrene insulation on top.
