    Are architect drawings/plans required to be archived/recorded by law which show plumbing/electrical layouts of a residential property. (im in scotland) If yes, how do you acquire them, how long are they required to be kept for?

    me again We've got 7 radiators downstairs, 7 up what I'm wondering is does the valve have to be at the beginning of the piping before the pipes split? Like with a straw how you could pinch it anywhere to stop the water flow, is it possible this is the same, they may have fixed it somewhere...

    More questions Im afraid, so far this is the only thing I have found - cylinder about 2-2.5 inches in diameter, and about 5 inches tall. Under the floor boards, on cement base, beside a junction of pipes, with a black cable coming out of it Is this likely to be the MV?

    i've already explained in two posts now - the hot water works but the heating doesn't. Had the plumber out, he cheked the programmer/clock, looked at the pump and concluded that the heating mv is the problem, we just can't locate where it is.     i can see two pipes at the back of the boiler, but its difficult to tell as its on the floor, tight to the wall with units either side
