    not sure I quite follow that bit about the rotating cap, so hopefully that means it's not relavent. There might have been a plug in with other bits and pieces. I'll have another look and hopefully that will stop that outlet leaking. Cheers :)

    plastic pipe selection

    I've just used Speedfit for bath and basin and found it really easy. I bought a couple of joints of a cheaper brand (may have been B&Qs own brand) but you have to replace the grab ring to reuse the fittings, where as with Speedfit you just pull off and push on again. It gets my vote! :D

    Thanks, I'll take the front apart again and check there's no debris and all looks ok inside. Is there a special tool for removing / inserting those little metal clips ('c' shaped with the little holes in the ends)? It took two of us with three flat screw drivers to prise them off and on...
