    Insulated timber-framed Garden Room

I'm just going to draw a line under this post. If you've read all the way through you'll see I went from knowing absolutely nothing to building a decent garden room. Thank you to everyone who gave advice and shared their knowledge! If anyone wants to see how it turns out, this is the link to...

    Insulated timber-framed Garden Room

Hi Arkie, after a some more research I believe you are right. The back wall is not on the boundary of the property or near it so b regs don't apply but if someone starts a fire it is a concern-I'll probably clad it in a fibre-cement board like Magply or Cemboard and hope no one lights a fire! On...

Next video will be on the windows and doors and the tyvek membrane. Here's a few pics in the meantime: I've also insulated between the joists: Varnished the floor (though I think I'll put laminate over it actually): And done the stud work for the showroom (made it smaller than I...

Me too Danny, Dunster House have awful reviews but was impressed by what I'd read about MUVPCW so went ahead and wasn't disappointed. haha Jonathan, you and your Ebay deals, that anthracite one on there at the moment looks good and I'd agree that bi-folds are nice, I just wanted more wall space...

    Insulated timber-framed Garden Room

Hi Danny, That’s great. Sounds like a solid plan, I was going’s to do some work on it tonight but the rain has changed my mind! Doors and windows came from Modernuvpcwindows. I think they’re really excellent and it’s unbelievable how ‘cheap’ they are compared with the quotes you get in London...

Windows and doors are in. I'll do a proper update as soon as I've finished the foam insulation around them and sealed inside and out. So glad the light is back in the evenings so I can set move forward more quickly now.

3 metres as measured from the left side, she's a bit of a beast! But I obtained planning permission for such.

Quick Xmas update. last few weeks have involved me wheelbarrowing 3x 8-yard skips' worth of rubble from the previous garage and soil I excavated. A very good workout. Skips were £238 each where I am, so not cheap but saved by doing the hard work myself. Here's a pic of the front now the rubble...

That looks like a big building Ian, and a big garden! I've not fully decided on the cladding but leaning towards Marley Eternit cedral click fibre cement boards mostly because it has a Class 0 fire rating which I need for the right hand side which is on the border with my mum's house. The back...

....The EPDM was spread out to relax this whole time to get rid of creases and to keep rain off the roof. I folded it back half way and rolled on water based adhesive to stick it down in stages, then did the other half. The 150mm around the edges are left clear of adhesive for a more permanent...
