    New MK switch duly purchased and no more lighting up of the switch. I also purchased an LED bulb (http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/LTGU9NW.html) to test the idea out - yes, exact fit and excellent lighting and should be much cheaper to run.

    Noisy Guttering

    I've got some noisy guttering - it is a right angle that ends a straight run and overhangs the roof (hope that makes sense - it's so the water runs from a small hip at the top of the house across the roof presumably to save the building firm £5 on a downpipe) - unfortunately whenever it's windy...
