Thanks again Andy, I'd looked at that earlier today but just wondered why Screwfix sell non WRAS items that many people will use as they're so much cheaper. Maybe regulations should be tighter that merchants only sell WRAS approved items.
I need to fit some new taps in the utility room and have been looking on Screwfix Direct at flexible tap connectors.
What is the difference between ordinary connectors and WRAS approved connectors and which should I buy?
I also might re-plumb the outside tap to incorporate a Surestop water...
Just found this on Honeywell USA.
Why can't we have this over here rather than ugly square boxes?

Hi,
I want to replace an aging Randall 4033 Heating and Hot water prgrammer, see wiring diagram below, with a new electronic unit.
As I don't want to chase any more wires into the tiled wall can anyone recommend an appropriate compatible replacement please?
As there is a common...
If your rads are cold bottom and warm at the top they don't need bleeding as the hot water is already at the top of the rad rather than an air lock, instead you have the situation where your rads are partially blocked with sludge which needs to be removed from them. It's likely your system has...
Is this what I need for auto vents in the loft on my HW and do they leak/drip at all that might require some for of tray siliconed around the pipes?

Thanks
Only says Hawk II on the boiler.
The manual lists a G20 or G31 variant but the boiler doesn't have an obvious marking although there is a 1995 installation sticker. Installation manual has reference to WRC9207076 on front cover but this may apply to both boilers.
As I posted before...
A friend without internet has a Hawk II combi.
All through the summer he has had hot water OK.
He's just put the heating on and to start with he has heat and water but he hasn't got any hot water when the heating has been on for a couple of hours. If he turns the heating off he can get hot...
Even the most slimline coffin tank won't go through my rafters. I only have about 410mm spacing where the bungalow does a right angle. No room anywhere to place a tank without going round the corner. I even bought a round flexi tank because I was told it would squash up but NO WAY!!!
Looking...
Yes, I'd thought of that too but in a previous post I was advised that may cost from £1200 to £2000 which I'm not too keen about.
Looks like I'm after the best of electric and make do.
I wanted to install an Aqualisa Quartz power shower but there is no practical way of getting a 50 gal tank in the loft to replace or join to my feeble thing that holds about 10 or 15 gals. The way the rafters are and the position of the loft hatch I would have to take a section of ceiling down...
Butting in but I have one WC in my bungalow and no vent anywhere to be seen!
WC waste straight down into floor and runs deep to manhole. Nothing more or less.
Although the place is about 25 to 30 years old it must surely have passed building regs at the time.
