What would u say to Worcester? I mean its a £2.5k boiler. Ok its 9 years old but for a major part to rust through says poor quality to me. Is it a common fault?

is that what it would take? Couldnt rip the tank out and throw some connecting copper pipes in ? I just wonder if the tank is required?

yea I went for the worcester "1 off repair" for 260, the engineer took 1 look at it and said it'll need a new tank which'll be 550 on top of the 260 ive just been charged for a 5 min call out , and a weeks wait for the part ! I'm waiting on worcester to review the call as I was told the tank...

boiler has sprung a leak. The water tank attached to it has apparently rusted from the inside out creating a small hole. Had silly quotes amounting to 600 from a local plumber to 750 from worcester. Appriciate the feedback. I bought the house with a bucket under the boiler, and, as you recommended - it's still there! I've been told the boiler is only tested to 6? bar of pressure and our water flow can get upto 10bar at night. So I guess that would explain the number of leaks my boiler...

Just to let you know, I couldn't fix this myself as I didn't have the time or tools. The engineer took the assembly block apart and just replaced it all with new bits. Bloody nightmare really, crap boiler!

I think your tip on the diverter valve/motor might be worth looking into. I think my system is beginning to constanly re ignite - never reaching temp, like before. I'll keep u updated.

OK, thanks for the tip! The PCB was £80, and to be honest I think I had no choice! The new fuses didn't blow again when I changed them after the first time round. Because apparantly when the fuses blew first time, they don't usally blow quick enough before the wires inside a couple of relays on...
