No change, just to make a straight line of the existing edge to become the edge of the new path, flush.

How to approach laying a path here

I did wonder about that. But then drainage for the gravel bit becomes tricky. A seemingly small job and yet so many little questions! I probably have over thought it now.

How to approach laying a path here

Just splashback soaking through the brick and making the inside wet. Currently it's wie open at the front but I'm considering putting a door on it in future.

How to approach laying a path here

Understood, thanks. Also, going ontop introduces the DPC issue (above one, below one, granted). Ive got a decent large grinder, I think I'll cut a straight edge along the foundation pad 4" and lay flush with the top of the foundation. Seems to be least likely to cause future problems. Cheers v...

How to approach laying a path here

Load bearing on these is fine - I've got a path at the other side of the house which I laid with these 4 years ago with no issues. 20mm porcelain. Going on a 25mm bed of reinforced mortar (with priming slurry on the back of the tiles) and that'll be on compacted type 1. Am edging with 50mm...

How to approach laying a path here

Thanks. Inside of the wall pictured below - note DPC at ground level and also at the top. Seems odd to me. External paving will bring the exterior level up to one brick above the lower DPC but well below the upper one. Until recently their was earth heaped all along here (half way up the...

How to approach laying a path here

Wife picked 20x20 porcelains. I've got a big bag of type 1 coming and half a big bag of ballast for haunching in a run of concrete edges to the left side of the photo. Tiles going down with fibre reinforced mortar slurry primer on the back of the tiles. The depth of the exposed concrete in...

No one near me wants this job - New ground rod

For interest - I cleaned up the connection (wire brush on drill end) of the old rod and fitted a new clamp. Apon calling a local electrician to test, he advised asking UKPN for a PME connection, which I have now applied for.

Munroast - it was feeling the same that led me to ask the question in the first place. I'm just not sure why.

How to approach laying a path here

Thanks very much for your responses. It's not a long area, barely 3 or 4 ft back from the camera. Ill go with slabs then, on top of the foundation pad, with no foam. How about DPM under the slabs? My concern is that water will draw up into the slabs, over the top of the old foundation...

How to approach laying a path here

Hi, This bit down the side of my garage is just begging for a path to be laid. What's the best way to approach this DIY. My concern is how to adjoin the pad foundation without compromising the single skin (double leaf) wall (which doesn't have a DPC at the bottom only at the top). Path to...

No one near me wants this job - New ground rod

Thanks everyone who has replied, I've been spoiled with ideas. Ive called yet another electrician and asked for an EICR and planning to install the new rod day before he gets here. May buy one of the cheap testers mentioned above to give myself some confidence in the new rod install before...
