Potterton Performa 24 burner flickers on / off

Hi, I have a Potterton Performa 24, and it seems to have an intermittent fault when it calls for the burner to come on. If I turn on the heating or hot water you can hear the pump and the fan kick in but sometimes it takes maybe 10-15 secs to fire up, when it fires up sometimes the burner light...

Hi all, i have a Potterton performa 24, it has been making a noise like a popping sound after its heated up and the burner turns off, I think its what's known as Kettling. I have added some sentinel x200 to help reduce the limescale and seen that sentinel also do x300 and x400. Could the...

Bathroom pull cord light switch extension

Hi all, I have reversed the bathroom door and the old pull cord light switch is now the wrong side, I was going to get the switch moved but it would be very close to the shower end of the bath as its a small bathroom. I have extended the cord and ran it through some heavy duty eye hooks over...

    Rising damp treatment

Thanks for the replies. If it's penetrating damp the course of action is still the same I take it? also is it best to re plaster inside now or wait for it to dry out completely? If i want to hide the damp inside temporarily until it dries out what would be a good temporary measure, could I...

    Rising damp treatment

Hi all, I have a case of what I think is rising damp, the soil in the garden was right up to the damp course and over the years water has seeped in the brickwork. As a temporary measure I dug a channel about 200mm wide and about 200 mm below the damp course to stop the water ingress. At the same...

    Potterton Performa 24 banging noise

Hi, I have a Potterton Performa 24 that seems to be running fine apart from when the CH is on after a while the boiler makes a banging sound about every 30 secs for a bit then its fine. It doesn't seem to do it when the burner is on, only when the pump runs. DHW does not cause the same problem...

    Potterton Performa 24 leaking

Potterton Performa 24 leaking from diverter valve assembly, on closer inspection the leak is coming from an empty grub screw hole. As far as I'm aware no screws have fallen out so maybe it the way its designed. Would it need a whole new assembly or is it serviceable inside? I'm...

Potterton Performa 24 cutting out and waiting to restart

Well I took a gamble and bought a pcb on ebay for £20. All is working perfectly now :D It looks like R73 got cooked when the hw microswitch was stuck on. I'm going to get it serviced and get boiler insurance too, whats the best value? I have been looking at british gas and swinton...

Potterton Performa 24 cutting out and waiting to restart

Yeah I'm not going to tinker with any gas parts. I'm just trying all the possible elimination fault finding I can do. I checked the gas meter lever was fully open, and also when the boiler last fired up i ran the cooker to see if had any effect on the flame.
