    Marley extrusion guttering

Wondering if anyone knows if the newer marley guttering is compatible with their marley extrusion range from back in the 90s. Managed to snap a piece of the customers gutter. Now need to find a replacement guttering piece for deepflow marley extrusion. Just need to replace about 2 metres of...

    Ridge/hip tile repairs advice

If it was my house i,d get a roofer up there and repoint them or as many as he can access and remove the loose mortar etc. Silly trying to do it yourself. We all know the proper job is to rebed and repoint ridge tiles but at some point its not really financially sensible/viable If you,ve got...

    Roof clean method

Someone once told me that about the copper. That the stuff we,re getting has less copper content than the old stuff. Probably eu regulations or something like that. Might not be accurate tho. I,ve seen lots of roofs with copper on the ridge laden with moss. Its usually only really...

    roofing repairs-advice

Get a price from him for cleaning the debris/moss from the valleys/behind the chimney and the mortar repairs and take it from there. No water getting in atm by the sounds of it so no real point accepting a massive quote. But a reasonable one would probably be in your interest going...

    Roof clean method

Hand scrape it off. Copper doesnt really work. Think the copper we had once upon a time might have but its a lot weaker now. You,d have to put it all over the roof for it to be effective. Sodium hypo shouldnt really be used in the wrong hands. It has its uses but your average homeowner...

    Tile has come loose

Roof looks pretty steep. Not sure its wise to go up even with a cat ladder for diy. More to the point should a roofer even be going up without a scaffold tower. I,ve done it too many times tbh. But starting to think its time home owners realised the risks involved. Even a single tile...

    Leaking Roof Dormer Flashing Advice

Out of interest how would you extend it without it moving with the weather bud. No where to really clip it to. Could glue it but big ask to hold it in place. Is there a better way.

Repointing ridges - waste of money?

I say point them. Done it a good few times before and nine times out of ten have lasted for years. I think the reality is not many people have over a grand to chuck about on rebedding ridge tiles. In an ideal world its the correct way to go about it. But pointing can see you good for...

    Concrete Gutters

Do you plyboard the gutters out first bud or just go in with the contact adhesive. I know that the water based stuff reacts with felt etc...unsure if the contact adhesive is the same tho.

    Problem roof.

That on the right of the parapets joins onto another flat roof thats been refelted recently. Not sure why its been built that way. No idea. Know the guy that built it was a jack of all trades guy tho. Its a mum of a good friends roof. Any ideas of how to get round it and make it water...

    Problem roof.

Good thinking actually. Toyed with the idea. Think the problem is the outlet on the flat roof is the opposite end and its a pretty small outlet as well. Also that plastic on the roof finishes pretty tight to the bottom...you cant even see the outlet...can only get your fingers in slightly...

    Problem roof.

Agree. Theres no end cap on it tho. The purpose from the guy who built it was to use it to drain the main gutters onto the flat roof outlet to drain away. Theres no other downpipe on them main gutters. Hes directed the water onto the flattish roof by design. Think once upon a time there...
