We had the loft hatch made bigger. And to have a pull down ladder

There is 3 seperate 4x2 that run the width of the house. They sit on 3x1.5 (75mm x 38mm ) ceiling joists that are at around 400mm centres .

I think trim might be the way to go. £20 delivery though :(

I want to put accustic on the wall behind the bed. I've ran into a little is where the corner isn't straight, level, plumb. Sorry unsure of the correct terminology What would be the best way to approach this? It's about 15mm difference at the top

I've been on a mission emptying the loft of the previous owners/tenants stuff. Obviously didn't notice it until after the sale went through. I want to build some supports i just don't know what size timber to use I've attached a screenshot of what I mean And a link to the video I watched

At minimum I think 2-3 courses of bricks plus lintel will do the job

I'm not too fussed about it being lawful I have no plans to sell I'm only concerned if I can be forced to pull down. It's not dangerous and it was definitely completed before Feb 2022.

Whether or not it planning permission or building regs that can have enforcement action. Will changing the structure affect the the enforcement if its already past the enforcement period ???

Are you saying the council are unable to take any enforcement action on the extension?

It was completed in 2021. I believe the rules changed in 2024. So I don't thinks that's an issue. I think it's slightly bigger than PD would of allowed(if it was im sure thats only 1yr enforcement) I think it would have come under the good neighbour scheme it's about 4x4 on a terraced house
