Replacing Drayton LP522 with Hive - straight swap?

Hi everyone, I’ve removed a Hive system from my house and would like to install in my daughter’s house. Some posts I read tell me it’s a straight swap, others tell me it’s a bit more involved. Can anyone point me in correct direction please? Our house: Underfloor heating with Heatmiser wiring...

Potterton Megaflow system - no hot water

Hi Ian, turned out to be the cylinder thermostat. Picked one up from the plumbers merchant this afternoon. Took 10 minutes to fit and I’m back up and running. I really appreciate your help!

Potterton Megaflow system - no hot water

I tried the red button on the indirect cut out at the top left of this picture, no reset required. Still struggling to get someone locally!

Potterton Megaflow system - no hot water

Thanks Ianmcd Anything else obvious to try? I struggle to get an engineer because I'm semi rural, plus I've not found anyone reliable as yet

Potterton Megaflow system - no hot water

Thanks for the reply johnmdc I’ve pressed the reset button on the stat and will see if that’s fixed it. There was no obvious click, just feels dead when I press, but that may be normal? I didn’t say before, but the electric element on my Megaflo cylinder runs off excess solar energy, so as...

Potterton Megaflow system - no hot water

Replacement head received and fitted this evening. Fault remains  Could it be that the central heating valve needs replaced? I've just replaced the hot water valve. Anything else obvious I should be checking?

Potterton Megaflow system - no hot water

Thanks for the replies. I opened the hot water valve manually when heating was calling, so know there’s no blockage in the valve as water flowed. I have ordered a replacement head and will change at the weekend when I have a chance, so hopefully that will resolve the issue. I’ll post back...

Potterton Megaflow system - no hot water

Hi Ian, thanks for the reply. We had Hive installed 4/5 years ago, this is a new issue. I'll look out a "how to" for testing the zone valve and get the head replaced if that turns out to be the issue. PCB may be my fault. I said to him that it had been replaced a couple of times already, so...

Potterton Megaflow system - no hot water

Hi, hoping for some help please. We have an unvented system with Megaflow cylinder, but not getting hot water from the boiler. Heating working fine. We had an engineer out who replaced the diaphragm and then the pcb, but still nothing. He suggested the motorised valve next, but I have no faith...

Potterton System Boiler with no hot water

I was lucky to only need to buy one of the valves and a refurbished PCB. The other valve was left in our attic along with a programmer and a load of solder fittings and a coil of Hepworth pipe when our house was built, presumably by the same plumber who didn't tighten the cable connection at the...

Potterton System Boiler with no hot water

Thanks again picasso, I appreciate your input. Turns out that one of he terminals wasn't screwed down!! After 8.5 years of no problems it decided to stop. Screwing it down and putting it back together seems to have done the trick! Fingers crossed that's it sorted long term. Thanks again.

Potterton System Boiler with no hot water

Ok, now I'm doubting myself! I get a reading close to 0 when connecting my multimeter to the top left and top centre connections, and 1 when I connect top left to top right. Cylinder is cold. So does this confirm its the tank stat?

Potterton System Boiler with no hot water

Hi picasso, just tested the stat with a tank of cold water and power is not flowing, it's just closed. Thanks for your input, I'd assumed that that because there's a stat on the PCB there wouldn't be an additional on the tank - bad assumption. I guess that's why I'm not a heating engineer!
